Our craft

Three techniques, all by hand

Every piece starts as plain silver. The pattern comes from a hammer, a chisel and many hours of patient work.

Hand-engraved Khmer silver bangle anklets

Engraving

Leaves and flowers in the Khmer kbach style are cut into the band of each anklet, line by line.

Repoussé floral pattern on a Khmer silver bowl

Repoussé

The silver is hammered from the inside to raise the design, then chased from the front to sharpen every petal.

Khmer filigree silver beads

Filigree

Fine silver wire is twisted and soldered into open beads and rosettes, then strung into necklaces and bracelets.

Look for our សធ mark

Every piece we sell has the letters សធ engraved on the back. It is our mark, and your proof the piece comes from Sothea.

Great purchase! I was here this morning, but since it was the first store I visited, I didn't buy right away. I went back at the end of the day because they had the most beautiful silver in town. Great prices, and the lady was very kind and smiling. While I waited, she even polished the bracelet I had chosen! Thank you by Italian Girl!
